Leeds United academy chief Neil Redfearn has revealed that Elland Road has been gripped by a sickness bug.

Redfearn's young charges played an Under-21 game at Elland Road against Colchester United last night, going down to a 2-1 defeat.

He has reported no injury concerns, but has admitted that Leeds have had a sickness bug which has affected several players.

"There's a bug that's going round the club. There's one or two that have had this sickness bug", Redfearn told LUTV.

"It's nothing major, it's a 24 hour thing", Redfearn added.

The Leeds youth supremo also stated his belief that defeat for his young side could teach them vital lessons going forward.

"But they were fine, no knocks or bumps or strains, just wounded pride from getting beat.

"But there's not going to win every game and they'll learn sometimes in defeat, which is good for them."

Leeds' senior team are in action this evening in the Championship when they take on Norwich City at Carrow Road.
