Federico Fazio has stressed that Tottenham Hotspur need to do a lot more to win games after their weekend loss to Manchester City.

Spurs collapsed to a 4-1 defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad and Fazio was sent off on his Premier League debut for the club.

The 27-year-old defender believes Spurs were not as bad as the scoreline suggests, but feels they need to do a lot more to win the big games.

“We showed more than just fight and passion in the game”, the Argentine told the club’s official site.

“We competed well but we can still be more aggressive and do more to win games.”

Fazio, who joined the club this summer from Sevilla, was not overly impressed with his league debut for the north London side and said that the team as a whole need to put in extra effort on the training ground to iron out the flaws for the upcoming games.

“It was my Premier League debut and I should be happy but I’m not because I wanted to win, I always want to win. We’ve got to work hard as a team now to compete in the upcoming games.”

Spurs will next host Asteras Tripolis in a Europa League encounter on Thursday.
