Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is of the opinion that his side have “eight points too few” in the Premier League.

The Red Devils, who drew 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns last night, are currently sixth in the standings with 12 points from eight fixtures.

And Van Gaal explained that he is not pleased with Manchester United’s points tally, especially because of his side’s inability to pick up the full points despite being the better side.

The Dutchman, who took charge of the Old Trafford club at the start of the season, further added that he feels his side should have reached the 20-point mark by this time of the season.

"It's not good because when you see our games we have normally been the better team”, Van Gaal explained to his club’s official site.

“But when you have 12 points from eight games, it’s eight points too few."

Manchester United will next lock horns with Premier League leaders Chelsea, who they would have been just two points behind if they had achieved Van Gaal's stated tally, on Sunday before taking on their fierce local rivals Manchester City a week later.
