Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is unsure when Germany superstar Bastian Schweinsteiger can return to action for the club.

After the euphoria of winning the World Cup with Germany, the midfielder is dealing with a persistent knee problem and is yet to play for Bayern Munich this season.

The newly-appointed German captain returned to training last week and underwent a series of drills at the club’s Sabener Strasse complex under the close supervision of fitness coach Holger Broich earlier this week.

But Rummenigge is uncertain on when the 30-year-old will resume first team training and said that it is impossible for him to suggest when Schweinsteiger will be back in action for Bayern Munich on the pitch.

“Bastian is currently a big question mark”, the club CEO told Bild.
