Jurgen Klopp has urged Borussia Dortmund to improve their defensive form ahead of his side’s Champions League meeting with Galatasaray tonight.

BVB, who lost 2-1 to 1.FC Koln at the weekend, have conceded 14 goals in just eight Bundesliga matches this season.

Dortmund have picked up just a solitary point from their last five league games and presently find themselves fifth bottom in the standings with seven points.

However, Klopp’s side have managed to keep two consecutive clean sheets in the Champions League and are currently atop Group D with six points, following their wins over Arsenal and Anderlecht respectively.

And the manager, who revealed he gave his charges an earful after their loss to Koln, called on Dortmund to put in a better defensive performance against Galatasaray.

“A lot of things are being said about our current form – they say that we play badly in the Bundesliga and well in the Champions League”, Klopp told UEFA’s official site.

“What I expect above all from my team is to be solid in defence. We have a lot room for improvement in that sense.

“I raised my voice towards the players after the Koln game and gave them a dose of criticism.

“When we have possession, we know what to do, but when we don't have the ball we make our opponents' job easy.

“We have to see every game as an opportunity to improve. When we defend better, Dortmund will be the team to beat again.”
