Manchester United target and Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman is expected to make his comeback from injury on 9th November, far earlier than originally envisaged.

The Dutch midfielder suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in March this year and missed the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign as a result.

Roma have missed his services since the start of the season and the midfielder was not expected to return before late November or early December.

But according to Italian daily Il Messaggero, Roma are quietly confident that Strootman will be in the squad to face Torino on Sunday 9th November.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has not hidden his admiration for the Dutch midfielder and claimed that he changed the Netherlands’ formation during the World Cup due to the absence of Strootman.

He will be closely monitoring Strootman’s progress after his return from injury, especially with the Red Devils having been strongly linked with making a bid for his services once he proves his fitness.

Roma on the other hand are ready to offer a new deal to Strootman to fend off the interest from Manchester United.
