Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has been charged by the FA for misconduct in relation to the comments made after the Chelsea game.

Cheslea registered a hard fought 2-1 away victory over the Eagles in the Premier League on Saturday, but Warnock criticised the referee’s performance after the game and said that he was allowing the Chelsea players to influence some of his decisions.

“We played really well and it's overshadowed by a poor performance by the referee”, the Palace manager said after the match.

"John Terry doesn't get booked and he books Damien Delaney and I think it's ridiculous. I thought he was influenced today. Delaney got a touch to the ball in the first booking, the second one [Loic] Remy dives and then you have four Chelsea players surrounding the referee.

“I thought those days were gone – banned.”

The FA is not at all amused by Warnock’s comments about the referee and has charged him with improper conduct.

The FA statement read: “It is alleged that Warnock’s post-match comments constituted improper conduct in that they implied the match referee was motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute, in contravention of FA Rule E3[1].”

Warnock has until 27th October to respond to the FA’s charge.
