Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas wants his side to now focus on their upcoming La Liga clash against Barcelona on Saturday, following their 3-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League last night.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal and a brace from Karim Benzema at Anfield helped Los Blancos to register their third straight victory in the continental competition as they moved six points clear at the top of Group B.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are currently third in La Liga with 18 points from eight games, four adrift of the leaders Barcelona.

Hence, Casillas called on Real Madrid to turn their attention to the weekend’s El Clasico, which his side need to win in order to close the gap with the Catalan giants.

“Achieving three victories in three matches is positive news for us,” he explained to UEFA’s official site.

“We can now put the Champions League aside for a while, and focus on this important match we have on Saturday against the top team in our domestic league.

“We want to win and close the gap, and we want to make it back to the top.”

Apart from Real Madrid, who have nine points from three games, the other three Group B participants Liverpool, FC Basel and Ludogorets Razgrad have all managed to accumulate three points thus far.
