Manchester City starlet Karim Rekik believes he made the right move by joining PSV Eindhoven on loan.

The defender spent last term on loan at PSV, but returned to Manchester City in the summer. However, with first team chances likely to be at a premium at the Etihad Stadium, he quickly agreed a fresh loan with PSV.

And the Netherlands international, who won his first senior cap earlier this year, is sure he has made the right choice.

"There was every reason to return to PSV", he explained to the Brabants Dagblad.

"When you play for PSV at the top of the Netherlands, you experience the pressure that you have to win every game."

Manchester City captured Rekik from the youth ranks at Feyenoord in 2011, but he has struggled to break through into the first team given the fierce competition for places at the club.

The 19-year-old has also had spells on loan at Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers.
