Mario Balotelli has courted more controversy after it was alleged that he used threatening behaviour to a woman over photographs being taken of his Ferrari.

Greater Manchester Police were called to an area of Manchester, Wythenshawe, earlier today at just past 3pm, according to the BBC.

The woman alleges that Balotelli moved towards her daughter, who was taking photos of his car, which was parked on the pavement.

Greater Manchester Police said: "We received a report of threatening behaviour and we are investigating."

Balotelli knows Manchester well from his time spent at Manchester City.

The striker has been heavily criticised for his performances on the pitch for Liverpool of late, with just one goal scored for the club since he arrived from AC Milan in the summer.

Yesterday he swapped shirts with Real Madrid defender Pepe at half-time in a Champions League clash Liverpool were losing 3-0.

It was a move which angered manager Brendan Rodgers.
