Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has delighted at his hat-trick in a 5-1 Europa League win over Asteras Tripolis, despite the match ending with him in goal.

The hosts ran riot at White Hart Lane, establishing their dominance early on in the match when Kane struck in the 13th minute, with Erik Lamela then doubling the hosts' advantage in the 29th minute.

Spurs had to wait until just after the hour mark to grab their third, when Lamela struck in the 66th minute.

Kane then grabbed his hat-trick with goals in the 75th and 81st minutes, before Hugo Lloris was sent off for bringing down an Asteras Tripolis player late on.

Kane was handed the jersey, with Spurs having made all their substitutions, but the resultant Asteras Tripolis free-kick was one he could not keep out, as it ended 5-1 to Spurs.

And Kane admits he wasn't the best in goal, but says that will not overshadow a good night.

"I was a great night until I went in goal. I wasn't the best…I'll leave that to the keepers from now on", he joked to ITV.

"It was a great result for us and happy to get the hat-trick.

"I actually quite fancied myself in goal! But when I saw that free-kick wobbling at me I wasn't too happy!"

Kane now feels he must keep scoring goals and putting pressure on Mauricio Pochettino to select him in the Premier League.

"I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing and when I get the chance and get my goals I'll see where it takes me."
