VfB Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger has revealed his dream of playing in England for Arsenal.

Rudiger, a highly rated full-back, was subject to approaches from West Ham and Bayern Munich in the summer, but Stuttgart were not keen to lose the 21-year-old defender.

It emerged earlier this month that Chelsea and Juventus are closely monitoring his progress and might make a move for him in the future.

But the defender has revealed his love for Arsenal and said that he dreams of playing for the Gunners in England, having been inspired by several of the club's legends.

“I have been following Arsenal since the days of [Thierry] Henry and [Dennis] Bergkamp”, Rudiger told Bild.

The defender is under contract with Stuttgart until 2017. He also played in Germany’s recent Euro 2016 qualifiers against Poland and the Republic of Ireland.

Schooled at Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy, Rudiger joined Stuttgart in 2011 and has made 69 appearances for the club.
