Brendan Rodgers has revealed Liverpool do not yet know when Daniel Sturridge is likely to return from injury.

The striker picked up a thigh injury while on international duty with England in September, but then suffered a blow during his comeback when he suffered a calf injury.

Liverpool have toiled without the striker, who finished as the top English goalscorer, and second overall, in the Premier League last season.

But Rodgers can offer no news on when the Reds will have Sturridge back.

Asked at a press conference today whether there was any timescale on his return from injury, Rodgers replied: "No, not yet, no."

Liverpool have had to rely on Mario Balotelli following Sturridge's injury, however the Italian striker has scored just one goal since joining the club in the summer.

The Reds will hope he can quickly discover his form with no firm comeback date yet set for Sturridge.
