Aston Villa flop Nicklas Helenius does not want to return to the Premier League club once his loan spell at AaB comes to an end.

The Premier League side snapped the Denmark international up from AaB last year, but he struggled for playing time at Villa Park last season, slipping firmly down the pecking order.

Helenius was sent to his former club on loan this summer, but has no desire to use regular first team football as a springboard for a renewed push at Aston Villa in 2015.

"No, I have no desire to go back as things stand. And I don't think they want it either", he explained to Ekstra Bladet.

Helenius has a contract at Villa Park which runs until the summer of 2016, though it appears unlikely he will see it out.

The 23-year-old has so far clocked up eleven appearances in the Superliga for AaB, hitting the back of the net on three occasions.

He was also involved in the club's bid to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League, and also has two Europa League appearances to his name.
