Manchester United striker Will Keane has termed Phil Jones the most competitive player he has seen.

Jones joined the club in 2011 after impressing Sir Alex Ferguson with his performances at Blackburn Rovers and the Scot also claimed that the England defender is a potential future captain at the club.

Jones has suffered a number of injuries in the last few seasons, but is still considered an important part of Manchester United’s future.

And Keane termed the defender the most competitive player he has seen in his short career.

Jones has suffered some of his injuries because of his tendency to not hold back while challenging for the ball and the striker did say that the defender has the habit of putting his body on the line.

“One of them [the most competitive in training] has to be Phil Jones”, the striker told the club’s official site.

“He doesn't hold back – he just puts his head where it hurts all the time. He definitely flies into every tackle.

“All the lads are determined, to be honest, but he sometimes looks even more determined because he puts his foot in where some people would hesitate.”
