Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen believes that Erik Lamela's first goal against Asteras Tripolis is a shoe-in to win the Puskas award.

On the 29th minute mark, the ball was played to Lamela just outside the edge of the Asteras Tripolis penalty area. The Argentine quickly adjusted his feet and performed what is known as a rabona, striking the ball with his backstanding foot in the same way a Cruyff turn would be performed.

Lamela curled the shot past the Asteras Tripolis goalkeeper, leaving White Hart Lane in awe.

He scored another goal in the 5-1 Europa League win for Tottenham, but post-match the discussion was firmly on his rabona effort.
