Celtic boss Ronny Deila is happy with Stefan Scepovic's progress at the club and has backed the Serbian to make the grade in Scotland.

The Scottish champions snapped Scepovic up from Sporting Gijon over the summer, signing a player who had been a prolific goalscorer in the Spanish second tier.

He hit the back of the net for the Bhoys last night in a 2-1 Europa League win over Romanian side FC Astra.

And Deila is pleased with the striker, telling a press conference: "Scepovic was involved in a lot of good things [against FC Astra].

"He showed he can be a good player at this level."

The Celtic manager also admits he is happy with recent results for his side and is looking for the trend to continue against Kilmarnock this weekend.

"Of course I am very happy with the results and the situation in the group", explained the Norwegian.

"We just have to get the momentum and keep on winning."

And Deila is pleased that not just Scepovic, but fellow summer striking arrival John Guidetti is scoring, commenting: "It's a fantastic situation for me. It could be much worse if no one is scoring."
