Philippe Coutinho wants Liverpool to replicate last season’s tempo and intensity in their upcoming Premier League game against Hull City tomorrow.

The Merseyside giants, who finished just two points and a place behind champions Manchester City in the 2013/14 campaign, have endured a difficult start this term.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 13 points from eight outings, nine adrift of leaders Chelsea.

Brendan Rodgers’ side, who were thumped 3-0 by Real Madrid on Wednesday, have also been poor in the Champions League.

However, Coutinho called on Liverpool to find their last season’s form, starting with the fixture against the Tigers at Anfield.

"We haven't had a good start to the current season. We all acknowledge the team are not currently in our best form”, he told the club’s official site.

"It's very important that we find the same tempo and intensity from last season and the Hull game will be an opportunity for us to show that we can have a solid and convincing performance.”

Coutinho, who joined the Reds from Inter Milan in January 2013, has thus far amassed 59 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring nine times and providing 15 assists.
