Roma coach Rudi Garcia has reported positive progress for Kevin Strootman in his recovery from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Strootman picked up the injury in March this year and as a result missed the final part of last term for the Giallorossi, along with the summer's World Cup.

Roma have set a tentative comeback date of 9th November against Torino for the Netherlands midfielder and Garcia feels Strootman is now making very good progress.

"Physically Kevin is recovering very well and he's taking part with everyone in training", he told a press conference.

"It was a serious injury and now he must gain confidence."

Strootman has been continually linked with Manchester United, where boss Louis van Gaal is a big fan of his talents.

Roma however insist the man that they paid around €20m to sign from PSV Eindhoven last summer is not under any circumstances available for transfer.
