Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is concerned that Sunderland may react to their 8-0 drubbing at Southampton last weekend by adopting an ultra defensive approach against his team tomorrow.

Wenger takes his team to the Stadium of Light to face a side reeling from a thrashing at St. Mary's, which raised questions over their attitude, and the Frenchman feels that could have an impact on the game.

Wenger told a press conference this morning: "The danger is that they now focus very hard on defending and that we get very few openings."

The Arsenal manager, who saw his side draw their last Premier League game at home to Hull, is confident that his men have the right spirit and are ready for the Black Cats however.

"We train very hard", he said.

"The spirit is right and the attitude is there.

"It's [mixed results] more linked with confidence at the moment", Wenger added.

Arsenal head into the Sunderland game off the back of a 2-1 Champions League win over Anderlecht in midweek.
