Leeds United president Massimo Cellino has moved at lightening speed to fill the void left by sacking Darko Milanic as manager this evening.

Milanic was shown the door at Elland Road by Cellino after Leeds lost 2-1 at home to Wolves today, just his sixth match in charge of the Whites.

The Italian businessman has now turned to academy chief Neil Redfearn who will, according to the BBC, become Leeds permanent manager, replacing Milanic.

Redfearn filled in earlier this season when Cellino sacked David Hockaday from his post after just four Championship games in charge.

Redfearn led Leeds to three wins and one draw in his four matches, before Cellino appointed Milanic.

The former midfielder is a popular figure at Elland Road and well respected by the playing staff.

However, if he cannot arrest the Whites' slide it remains to be seen how long he will keep the post.
