Inter Milan custodian Samir Handanovic believes that the three points against Cesena will give his team "heart and strength" for the match against Sampdoria on Wednesday.

The Nerazzurri secured an important 1-0 away win against Pierpaolo Bisoli's team, thus returning to winning ways after three consecutive matches across all competitions.

While reflecting on the win, the 30-year-old insisted that it was never easy and his team were wanting "too much, too soon."

However, three points were crucial, according to the former Udinese man, as they look to take their winning momentum on to the next match against Sampdoria.

"It’s never easy. Tonight’s [Sunday’s] match was difficult, very difficult", Handanovic told his club's official site.

"I think we were rushing, trying to win the game and do everything straight away. We wanted too much, too soon.

"Having said that, the important thing is the three points and we can forget about the rest. We’ll take the points but we know we need to improve.

"This win will give us heart and strength for Wednesday; we now need to focus on Sampdoria because that’s a different match."

Walter Mazzarri's team are currently placed eighth in the Serie A table with 12 points from eight matches.
