Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is eyeing a January move for Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, who plays for Sevilla.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder joined the Spanish outfit this summer from Reims for €4.5m and is slowly earning a name for himself with some assured performances in La Liga.

His performances have caught the eye of Wenger, who is desperate to add some steel to the Arsenal midfield.

The Frenchman stated earlier this month that he will look to buy a defender in January, but it is believed that a defensive midfielder is also in his agenda for the winter transfer window.

And as a result, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Wenger is eyeing a deal for the Sevilla midfielder in January.

The Polish international could well consider another move in the winter transfer window if a club of Arsenal’s stature come calling.

The 24-year-old has made 13 appearances this season in Spain, but it remains to be seen whether Sevilla are willing to part with him so soon after his arrival.

Krychowiak has earned 22 international caps for Poland.
