Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes the size of the White Hart Lane pitch may be negatively affecting his side's performances.

Spurs have lost three times at home already this season, the latest being a 2-1 defeat to lowly Newcastle United on Sunday.

Pochettino's men sit just eleventh in the Premier League with only eleven points from nine games, eight points fewer than the club he left in the summer, Southampton.

"It's better for the opponent. For example, on Sunday Newcastle play deep, same with West Brom and Liverpool, and it was difficult for us.

"We need time to adapt in our new set up and understand better our position on the pitch", the former Espanyol manager added.
