Full-back Stephen Warnock is ready to ‘knuckle down’ and fight for his place in the Leeds United team.

Warnock has made 12 appearances for the Whites this season, but was benched for three of their last five league fixtures.

Former Leeds boss Darko Milanic decided to field Liam Cooper and Gaetano Berardi in the left-back position instead of the Englishman.

And Warnock admits that being in and out of the team is frustrating and said that it is very difficult for him to maintain any sort of consistency in performances.

"It’s always frustrating", the full-back told LUTV.

"I felt my form was good and you go into games in and out of the team and it’s frustrating.

"You lose a bit of fitness, a little bit of sharpness, you come back in two weeks later and you try and do a job.”

But the full-back is not ready to sulk and said that the former manager had his reasons to drop him to the bench.

He also insisted that he is ready to fight for his place in the team rather than complain about perceived injustices.

"But I’m not going to complain about it because that was the way the manager wanted to do it and he felt that he wanted to rotate things. I just want to play games, I’m not different to anyone else.

"I’m going to get frustrated but I’m not going to spit my dummy out like a lot of people have said I’ve done. I’ve just got to knuckle down and get on with it."
