Carlo Ancelotti has decided to overlook Xavi’s barb at Real Madrid’s style of play by terming it a player’s personal opinion.
Ancelotti’s side beat Barcelona 3-1 at Santiago Bernabeu last Saturday in El Clasico and after the game the Catalan midfielder said Real Madrid can only play on the counter-attack.
“They live off the counter-attack and we couldn't stop them”, Xavi said.
But the Real Madrid manager chose not to pay too much heed to the midfielder’s comment and said that everyone’s opinion should be respected.
He also stressed that there is a lot more to Real Madrid’s game than just playing on the counter and they did well to beat Barcelona last weekend.

"That's his decision, that of a great player”, the Italian was quoted as saying by Marca.
“Real Madrid's counter is tremendous, but you also have to have control of the game and pressure well. That is what we did against Barcelona.
“I don't see it as a lack of respect, it's the opinion of a player who has extraordinary experience."
