Everton left-back Bryan Oviedo has thanked manager Roberto Martinez and the team's medical staff for assisting his recovery.

The Costa Rican had been a long term absentee for the Toffees and only returned to action recently in last month's League Cup tie against Swansea and subsequently featured against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, he underwent further medical assessment after complaining of some discomfort with the screws in his legs.

But now that the screws have been taken out and the 24-year-old is raring to go yet again, Oviedo thanks his manager for having always supported him during the ten month injury nightmare.

"The manager has been fantastic with us, with me and Arouna [Kone, another injury absentee] when we were injured", Oviedo told his club's official site.

"He always supported us, all the team and the staff supported us too and that is very good for us because you feel the support and that is fantastic.

"It’s difficult when it’s a long injury because you have to be careful when you come back.

"I think the manager wants to be careful with us and we need to recover as quickly as possible because it is good for us and I want to play football games."

Everton host Garry Monk's Swansea City next on 1st November.
