Manchester United winger Angel di Maria has expressed his gratitude towards the fans for their show of love and affection during his first few months in the city.

The Argentine arrived at Old Trafford for a club record transfer fee of £59.7m this summer and has been impressive since the very beginning, having scored three goals, while providing his team-mates with four equally important assists.

The 26-year-old is not yet satisfied though, as he stresses the need to repay the fans for their overwhelming support.

“The people here are amazing", Di Maria told his club's official site.

"I feel really comfortable, very happy and really pleased. The way that people treat you really makes you feel good in your heart."

Di Maria also took time to add that so far he hasn't had the chance to get to know the city too much, but the plan is to be familiar with it even more in the near future.

"I have not really had much of a chance to get to know the city very well, with the move and with my family, but I am really pleased and happy to be here.

"So far I have just been going to work and then going home. When I first arrived here, I was in the city centre for a couple of days but I have seen nothing else really, but I plan to in the future."

Di Maria's side will take on arch rivals Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.
