Napoli are poised to make a January move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez.

Schooled in Atletico Madrid’s youth system, the player has spent time on loan at clubs such as Real Valladolid and Celta Vigo. He even made a permanent move to Mallorca in 2008 before returning to his childhood club two seasons later.

Even though he missed a large part of last season due to injury, Suarez was an important of the Atletico Madrid’s title-winning squad.

Napoli are keen to strengthen their midfield in January and are keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old at Atletico Madrid.

And according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Italians are keen to part with around €12m to €15m to secure the signature of Suarez from Los Colchoneros.

A move to Italy in January is not inconceivable, but it all depends on Atletico Madrid and whether they are ready to part with an important member of their title-winning squad.
