Leeds United will not head to Cardiff City with any shortage of confidence, despite not having won for their last six games, incoming manager Neil Redfearn says.

A run of three draws and three defeats cost Redfearn's predecessor Darko Milanic his job and brought an abrupt end to a prior run of three wins and one draw, earned under Redfearn himself in a temporary managerial stint.

Now Redfearn will bid to return the Whites to winning ways away at Cardiff tomorrow and the former midfielder believes his squad travel to Wales full of confidence, despite their poor results.

Referring to it having been 15 games since Leeds beat Cardiff, Redfearn told LUTV: "We're due a win there obviously. So we've got to make sure we go out there with that kind of mentality. We've got to go out and go after them and make sure that we'll win the game. To be fair, the lads have been really upbeat.

"There is no lack of confidence and desire to want to go and get a result. So it's up to me to harness that and make sure that we're organised and that we've got a game plan that suits us.

"We've got round pegs and round holes as regard to shape and the system and we've got to give a good account of ourselves."

However, Redfearn does feel that the Bluebirds have a certain advantage, having been bolstered by extra payments which come from relegation from the Premier League last term.

He also believes that will bring some added pressure for Cardiff though.

"The fallout that comes with the Premier League, the revenue that comes in, the parachute money, gives them a better chance and a better opportunity to go on and try and get back in there.

"But there is the pressure that goes with that as well, and we're well aware of that. We've got to make sure that we'll play on that."
