Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all planning a January move to sign Barcelona's Gerard Pique.

Since joining the club in 2008, the Spanish international defender was one of the cornerstones on which Barcelona’s recent success was built.

The 27-year-old defender has won four league titles and two Champions Leagues amongst various other honours with the Catalan giants.

But the English trio of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are ready to lure the Spaniard back in England in the winter transfer window, according to Catalan-based daily Sport.

Manchester United hold an advantage over the others as Pique did play at the club between 2004 and 2008 and won a league title and a Champions League with the Red Devils.
