Rangers striker Kenny Miller has expressed his excitement about potentially playing in an Old Firm game this season, whether it is in the semi-final or the final of the League Cup.

The Gers will come to know about their semi-final opponents after the draw on Saturday and are scheduled to face Aberdeen, Celtic or Dundee United.

While Miller feels that all are tough sides to play against, the 34-year-old insists that a match against their age old rivals would be particularly special.

“Whoever we get will be a tough game and if we’re going to win it we’ll have to beat two of the three", Miller told his club's official site, musing about Rangers' chances of lifting the trophy.

“Whether you get Celtic or Aberdeen or Dundee United and then get Celtic in the final that’s going to be a tough run – but it’s just going to be another game if we want to win the League Cup.

“Personally I’ll look forward to it if we drew [sic] Celtic because I never thought I’d have the chance to play in another Old Firm [game].

“So for me whether it is a semi-final, a final or in the Scottish Cup it would be special."

Miller was also quick to admit that Celtic would go into the match as favourites, but it being an Old Firm game the pressure would be on both sides and so anything is possible.

“Celtic would go into it as favourites because they’re the reigning champions of the SPL and they play at a higher level – but it would be an Old Firm game so the pressure would be on both teams."
