Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Jose Enrique will not be available for his side’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle United tomorrow with a knee injury.

The Spaniard, whose 2013/14 campaign came to a premature end after he underwent knee surgery in November, has thus far made four appearances in all competitions this season.

Enrique started in the Reds' 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers earlier in the month, but has since missed their last three outings.

And Rodgers explained that the full-back will play no part against his former club at St. James' Park.

"Jose is still not available, it's just an issue with his knee", the manager told the club’s official site.
