Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has stressed that his side need to be at the top of La Liga by Christmas.
Real Madrid won their tenth European Cup last season, but were third best in Spain behind champions Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
And Los Blancos are desperate to add their 33rd La Liga crown this season and are currently third in the league table, a point behind league leaders Barcelona.
Casillas’ side did beat the Catalan giants last weekend at home to cut down the deficit and the goalkeeper insisted that they need to be at the top by Christmas before the winter break.
"Our aim is what we've wanted from the start of the season”, the Real Madrid captain was quoted as saying by Marca.

Real Madrid are the most successful team in La Liga with 32 league titles, but Barcelona are the most successful team in Spain with 81 official trophies to Los Blancos' to 76.
