Arsene Wenger has urged his Arsenal side to be more efficient in breaking down dogged opposition defences.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League table on 14 points and will host Burnley at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

This season Arsenal have struggled to break down robust opposition rearguards and have won only three of their nine league fixtures.

Wenger stressed that his team are capable enough of breaking down dogged opposition defences, but they need to be a little more clinical.

He lauded the commitment of his players, but said that they need to be more efficient in their attacking play for the rest of the season.

"We want to be good enough to get around teams who try and stop us from playing”, the Frenchman said in a press conference.

"Our attitude and dedication has been fantastic. On the efficiency front we could do better."

Arsenal are nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, but the manager is still confident that his side are good enough to land a credible title challenge this season.

"[Our title odds] do not consider the teams we have played. I have a strong belief we'll come back."
