Adam Lallana has lauded Liverpool’s ability to grind out results despite not playing well.

The Reds, who went through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup after edging out Swansea City 2-1 on Tuesday, are currently seventh in the Premier League with 14 points from nine games, just two adrift of fourth-placed West Ham United.

In addition, Liverpool still have a chance of reaching the knockout round of the Champions League despite losing two matches in the continental competition.

And Lallana, who admitted that the Merseyside giants are yet to play their best football this season, is however pleased with the fact that his side are still alive in every tournament this season.

"It's a fantastic club to play for. We're still in all competitions and we haven't been at our best yet”, he told the club’s official site.

“We may not have gelled or found the right thing to trigger our performances, but we're still grinding out results when we need to."

Liverpool are next up against 14th-placed Newcastle United at St. James' Park tomorrow.
