Mathieu Flamini believes that Alexis Sanchez has already shown enough in an Arsenal shirt to suggest he is at the same level as club legend Thierry Henry and former Gunners striker Robin van Persie.

Arsene Wenger snapped Sanchez up from Barcelona this summer and the Chilean forward has wasted little time in making a very big impact at the Emirates Stadium.

October saw Sanchez score four goals and provide two assists, helping to lift a Gunners side that have struggled to cement winning positions this term, with only three victories in the Premier League so far.

Flamini, back at Arsenal for his second spell, is hugely impressed with Sanchez and can see shades of both Henry and Van Persie in the forward.

"Compared with what we have seen of him so far, he is at their level", Flamini told L'Equipe.

"He is fast, super fit, demands the ball deep and can make a difference at any time.

"He is a breath of fresh air", continued the Frenchman, before labelling Sanchez an example to his team-mates for his never-say-die attitude.

"When you see a player with this talent fight like a dog to help you recover [the ball], this is an example to follow."
