Marseille forward Andre-Pierre Gignac has insisted that his side are confident about claiming a positive result against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

Les Olympiens, who edged out Lens 2-1 last night, consolidated their place at the top of the Ligue 1 table with 28 points from 12 games.

Marseille are currently four points ahead of their nearest rivals PSG, and even a loss at Parc des Princes would enable Marcelo Bielsa’s side to remain atop the standings.

And Gignac, who admitted that the scenario will enable Marseille to play PSG without pressure, explained that his side are ready to face the French champions.

"We're going to Paris to take points”, Gignac explained to reporters when questioned about the upcoming Le Clasique.

"It's better like that as it will allow us to go to Paris in a relaxed manner.

"The boys will be ready to make it difficult for PSG at home.

“We can do it, we are ready for PSG.”

Gignac, whose present contract with Marseille is set to expire in the summer, has scored 10 goals in 12 Ligue 1 appearances for the club this season.
