Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has admitted former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been pulled in and spoken to about his behaviour at the club.

Bendtner has been on the fringes at Wolfsburg of late, with the club concerned he has been showing a negative attitude and moaning, while he has also shunned requests for him to attend extra training sessions.

The striker, who was released by Arsenal at the end of last term, has now been told to up his game by the Wolves, who still consider him to have a future at the Volkswagen Arena.

Hecking told WAZ: "We had a talk with Nicklas concerning his behaviour in different situations.

"He will try his best to get himself into a good condition and he is not excluded from the team.

"We'll have to be patient now.

"And that I am, because I can see he is doing what we ask of him", the Wolfsburg boss added.

Denmark coach Morten Olsen, who has not yet decided whether to call Bendtner up for the forthcoming international break, is now hoping Wolfsburg play the striker in their Europa League game this week.

"It would be a positive development for Nicklas to play for Wolfsburg on Thursday", he said.

"Wolfsburg have told me that Nicklas' fitness is good and that he trains with the team."
