Neil Redfearn has revealed he was "harsh" on his Leeds United players at half-time in their Championship clash against Charlton last night, something which he will continue doing as he looks to drive them forward.

The game was locked at 0-0 at half-time, but Leeds quickly scored when they came out for the second period, and then scored again when Charlton levelled.

Only a late Addicks equaliser from the penalty spot denied Redfearn's side their first victory in seven games, extending a winless run which has now stretched to eight.

Redfearn, who took charge in a caretaker role earlier this season and won three out of four games, feels he has work to do on a side that have lost their swagger, and admits he was harsh on his players at the break.

"I'm picking up a wounded animal. They've gone six games, if you include Saturday, seven game without a win and I'm dragging them back into the real world", the Leeds manager told a press conference.

"At half-time I was a little bit harsh with them when they'd done okay, but okay is not going to win us matches. I want better than okay and they've got to realise how I work.

"I'm not going to let them rest. It's a young side and I going to make them better and I want them to be consistent. I want them to play the type of football that we're playing", Redfearn added.
