Japanese side FC Tokyo are plotting a swoop for Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder, taking advantage of tensions between the Turkish club and the Dutchman.

Sneijder has suffered issues with the Turkish giants of late, seeing his salary paid late, while he also refused to put further salary payments on hold until January, something which it is claimed led to his benching for a Super Lig clash on Friday night.

It is thought Sneijder, who has consistently been linked with Manchester United, is now looking for an exit from the Turk Telekom Arena.

And according to Japanese outlet Nikkon Sports, FC Tokyo are willing to provide the Dutchman with an escape route.

The Japanese side hope to quickly do a deal which would see Sneijder land in Japan on a lucrative contract, while they also want Barcelona's Xavi in January.

It remains to be seen if other clubs join the race for the midfielder's signature given his ongoing problems in Turkey.
