Sunderland striker Connor Wickham’s agent David Manasseh has refused to confirm the name of Lazio as one of the clubs interested in signing his client.

The Black Cats signed the England Under-21 international from Ipswich in the summer of 2011.

Wickham spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds last season before coming back to the Stadium of Light towards the end of the campaign.

The 21-year-old forward has finally cemented his position in the starting eleven this season, but his contract is set to expire next summer.

Sunderland are keen to extend his stay but with his contractual situation the forward is free to talk to other clubs in January over a proposed summer move.

Lazio are believed to be interested in signing Wickham, but the player’s agent has refused to confirm names of any clubs.

He also added that Wickham is considering all options, indicating that signing a new contract at Sunderland is still a possibility.

“I cannot confirm Lazio’s interest because I have not personally talked to them”, Manasseh told Italian news outlet Calciomercato.

“All options are open, we exclude nothing.”
