Thorgan Hazard insists he is not disappointed to have not yet played for Chelsea, as he expected such a fate due to the Blues' policy.

The Belgian forward, brother of Eden Hazard, joined Chelsea from French outfit Lens in 2012, but instantly saw himself sent out on loan to Zulte Waregem in his homeland.

Hazard completed two season-long loans at Zulte Waregem before returning to Chelsea this summer, only to be sent out on loan again, this time to the Bundesliga and Borussia Monchengladbach.

He is not however disappointed, feeling he has only walked the path he knew he was likely to when he joined Jose Mourinho's men.

"I arrived at Chelsea at just 18 years old from the French second division", Hazard told Bundesliga.de.

"So I was always aware that I would not play there at first, but be loaned.

"Chelsea's policy is to secure the rights of young talents early and then loan them out, so that the players can mature.

"This was not unlike with Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois. I wanted it too in this way and not any other way."
