Daley Blind admits that he tries to watch every single Ajax game and continues to follow the fortunes of his former club extremely closely.

The Netherlands midfielder swapped Ajax for Manchester United this summer with the English giants splashing out £13.8m to tempt him from the Amsterdam ArenA.

Blind is still locked in a love affair with his boyhood club however and continues to tune in to every single Ajax game he can.

"I try, if possible, to see every Ajax match", he admitted to RTV Noord-Holland.

"I follow the Eredivisie closely. I love keeping up with the news."

And Blind feels Ajax have acquitted themselves well in the Champions League this term, while he also believes the battle for places under Frank de Boer has increased, particularly at the back.

"In the Champions League I saw good games from them. At Barcelona they did very well for a half and deserved more.

"I also see the competition increasing. There's more and more in defence.

"Frank de Boer knows very well how to deal with young players."
