Former Netherlands left-back Adri van Tiggelen has blasted Daley Blind, criticising the Manchester United midfielder for a lack of penetrating passes.

Blind played in the Netherlands' 6-0 win over Latvia in a Euro 2016 qualifier yesterday, but was forced off through injury, being replaced by Jordy Clasie.

For Van Tiggelen, the introduction of Clasie for Blind was to the Oranje's benefit, with Blind not having moved on from the Ajax academy style.

"Blind still plays football according to the Ajax academy", the 57-year-old, who won 56 caps for the Netherlands, told Voetbal International.

"All the balls go back and wide", he added.

"Clasie added a lot more speed into the game. He is always looking forward for a solution."

Manchester United face an anxious wait to discover for just how long Blind may be sidelined for after he hurt his medial area in his knee.
