Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt claims that his side are not chasing Andre Schurrle, Lukas Podolski or Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Bundesliga giants have been linked with the trio as they bid to build a side to challenge Bayern Munich under new coach Roberto Di Matteo.

Podolski has expressed his disappointment at a lack of playing time with Arsenal, while Shaqiri is also concerned about his situation at Bayern Munich.

And while the duo may be available in January, Schurrle remains highly rated by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

Nevertheless, Schalke are not set to try to sign any of the trio, Heldt says.

"Schurrle, we're not dealing with", he told Bild.

"The same goes for Podolski and Shaqiri", the sporting director added.
