Tottenham Hotspur have slapped a €10m asking price on Arsenal and Juventus target Vlad Chiriches.

The defender arrived with a big reputation at White Hart Lane from Steaua Bucharest last summer, but has so far failed to find his feet with Spurs.

He has made only two league appearances for Tottenham this season and it is believed that he is ready to draw the curtains on his time at White Hart Lane.

Arsenal, who are in the market for a defender in January, are closely monitoring the Romanian’s situation at Spurs.

They will face stiff competition from Juventus, who are also keen to add defensive reinforcements in the winter transfer window.

With the interest in their defender increasing, Spurs have slapped a €10m asking price on the Romania international, according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

Spurs paid €9.5m to Steaua Bucharest to sign Chiriches last summer and they would ideally like to recoup the whole fee if they sanction his sale.

This puts Arsenal in the driving seat as they are on a better financial footing than Juventus, but if the Bianconeri can guarantee first team football to the 25-year-old, the scales might tilt in their favour.
