Alan Pardew believes that Newcastle United offer the perfect home for young talents, who would struggle for playing time at bigger clubs.

The Magpies boast a number of young starlets and it has been speculated they could be raided by wealthier clubs.

But Pardew, who has handed chances to Ayoze Perez, Paul Dummett, Jack Colback and Mehdi Abeid, is confident Newcastle is the best place for the young talents.

"If we look at the teams financially above us, their record with young players is not good", he told the BBC.

"I look at teams similar to us. I look at Everton and what they've done over the last four years is what we haven't done and we are now starting to.

"That is to have young players saving us money by coming through to the first team and my staff deserve credit for that.

"Some players we've had to work very hard on."
