French giants Marseille are keeping a close watch on John Guidetti's exploits at Celtic ahead of a potential swoop for the Swede.

Guidetti has been in fine form for Celtic since joining the club this summer on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City, with his performances not going unnoticed.

According to local Marseille daily Le Phoceen, Marseille scouts watched Guidetti in action against Inverness earlier this month.

Guidetti scored the only goal of the Scottish Premiership encounter at Celtic Park and Marseille's observers were impressed. With Andre-Pierre Gignac's contract at the Stade Velodrome expiring, Guidetti is seen as a cost effective replacement.
