Italy coach Antonio Conte believes that there are more pressing issues in Italian football to discuss than Mario Balotelli’s antics.

Balotelli was forced to drop out of the Italy squad over the international break through injury, and missed games against Croatia and Albania.

The new Italian national team manager has given the impression of not being a fan of the Liverpool striker and decided against selecting him in his first two squads after the World Cup.

He also said yesterday that he is not going to waste him trying to change Balotelli’s attitude towards football because greater coaches in the past have tried and failed in the same endeavour.

When questioned about Balotelli after last night’s match against Albania, a 1-0 Italy win, he said that there are more pressing issues in Italian football to discuss than the Liverpool striker’s lifestyle.
